My girlfriend and her folks are from Albuquerque... So I'm off to meet everybody. Needless to say, I'm excited, 'tis my third time going to America(been to New York, Boston, Miami and Orlando). Never seen a mountain(s) in my life.
Should be cool, grrlfriend has a lot of good things to say about NM.

Nah. No uniforms. Half the kids can't afford them and the other half won't wear them. The .01% of the kids who supported uniforms were beat up.

Hey thats cool. Our lunatic principal is making us wear our student ID's around our necks while we are on campus. Otherwise we are forced to come to school on our sacred sleep in days. Saturday School. It sucks...

Well, people rarely appreciate their homes when still living there. I personally don't consider Helsinki all that great a place either.

Well... Count... I do have to admit that I absolutely love the mountains. I am just really sick and tired of Stucco houses and sand.

No Chris we don't usually go to school on Saturdays... it is a punishment. They will send you home if you're not wearing an ID and then you have to make it up on a Saturday i.e. "sleep in days"

Coming from a school with ~400 students, where practically all the teachers know you by name, it's weird hearing about hall-passes and the like...
Freaked me out when taking the SAT, when it had some kind of question on what sized university/college you would like to go to, and the smallest option was like over a 1000 students.

I came from a really small town. 78 seniors graduated in my class. The only uniforms we had to worry about were are game uniforms on game days

My highschool forced us all to wear thongs on Fridays. You'd get use to the feel of it, but the sight of the lard asses on the football team blubbering down the hall, huge hog-sized buttcheeks flapping in the wind routinely left me without an appetite when lunch time came around.....

The 400 students in our school includes everything from 1st grade to High School...
Classes don't get very big. :P

No, Count, our principal is not an advocate of uniforms (thank god.) But I think that the ID thing is very stupid, their hearts were in the right place (it's a security issue) but they followed through badly. Bad execution of a good idea I should say.
