LOL i watched all animations (ike and the eGg are the best!!! MORE SHOWS MORE SHOWS)

but the thing where the guy chases lil' shitz and shoots them, it looks a lil strange. I mean how were the characters made? With 3d software or did you put a layer of 2d drawn characters on top? Its weird because they look 2d sketched and colored pictures to me..

hmm i just thought it wouldnt be possible to draw every frame :) what kind of software di dyou use for that.. what plugins?

Shizo,

I use lightwave 3D for all the modelling and animation. I use photoshop for textures and stuff like that. In lightwave you can tell it to show all the polys in the object, or just the ones around the view for bugtesting or something I guess. Below is an example of the two features, the body being the example of all the shown polys, and the head being the option i prefer, of course

Damn man, your animations are really impressive. I just went through and watched 'em all... and... damn!

My personal favourite is "The Battle Of My Thoughts"... it is so like, pointless! The little green dude at the end rocks... we want more little green dude!

And this effect is cool, stick with it cause it looks like its cartoon but in 3d environment!

Figures are some really excellent style.. love em! I am sending you a box of vodka and a bag of bread right now!!!

Personally i cant wait for more Ike and the eGg shows.

Thanks guys

Shizo: I don't drink but maybe kurisu would enjoy it. If things are still going the way i think, he will have his own section off my site! YAY

Ikhelix: That animation depicts my thought process on character elimination. None of the animations are pointless, but yes they are intended to seem that way.

Pak: now that's something I'll need to see to believe. Sounds really neat!

I dig the Candy dispenser assassin! Really impressive animations. I tried my hand a t modeling and animation for a while and found I just didn't have the temper or patience for it. You have to be calm to do this sort of stuff.

Whoops, forgot to answer that one question. Ronin is right. I am self taught and I've been working on it for about a year and dunno how many months -- and just about 3 months ago I finally felt comfortable with it. Each animation is an exciting new challenge and I still have ALOT to learn, but I've mastered the basics well enough it seems to finally move up.

PS. Ronin, i wouldn't quite say i'm calm heheeheh I destroyed alot of things that were once part of the things around my desk to relieve the tension caused in learning alot of techniques. By means of burning, breaking, throwing, biting, staring down, and stamping things to hell and back.

There are several 'plugins/exporters' for
3d studio max that support flash/vector
output.

Try, illustrate at http://www.davidgould.com
or vecta3d at http://www.vecta3d.com.

I've tested both and found plenty of bugs,
strange errors etc. but atleast NOW you can
export simple 3d vector shapes/animation to
any 2d vector format pretty fast.

Your final .swf file will be quite big, cuz
the 3d to 2d output is not really optimized.

I've not seen any 'real' 2d vector exporters
for e.g lightwave, maya or softimage, but
there are several tricks and ways to convert
your 3d data to 2d vector data (but you DO
need to do a shitload of optimizing by hand.)
I used to convert my softimage raw .lin files
by hand into suitable postscript data

Many other 3d tools have native support for
e.g .ai/.eps file (illustrator/freehand)
export (e.g Amapi, Form-z etc.). It's a
really crappy way to make your 3d suitable
for flash but it works (esp. after 10 hours
of manual optimizing and tweaking haha, been
there, done that!)

Thus get a copy of max and a free try out version of the illustrate 3D plugin or stick
to bitmap tracing (less cool, but really
effective).
