April; thanks for the link - it's very interesting (although some are VERY illogically odd)

you're welcome. i love that free tute so i plug it. what was odd?
i must admit i read the free tute ages ago and then it was a while after reading it that i actually used it, so i didn't do anything exactly like he says.... and i use photoshop.
oh, catch his faq:
Q: Do you use a tablet to paint?
A: No I use a mouse (I' ve worn out 3 already) but I may try a tablet someday.
how many posts till one gets rid of "junior" member btw? i read this forum everyday but don't post much. :P

April, I did some investigating, and apparently its all based on your post per day ratio. In order to become a "member" you need to average 3 posts per day over a one week period. I hope this helps. |

Hey gang, my photoshop skills are slowly improving but I'm really hurtin in one area...sky/backgrouds. I was wondering if anyone out there can offer or has come across any tutorials or tips for painting backgrouds or skyscapes in photoshop? thanks |

April:
One pic in particular has a light reflection on water coming from an invisible light source and such. But overall, it's very nice -- I couldn't do better. =]
I think you become member at your 21st post -- unless that's changed...

i tried the cloud tute on dar... i got a better result using the full tute on digitoils... prolly cos the cloud tute on dar is not a tute, more like a walkthrough. tutes tell you what settings... how to do everything. but i think walkthroughs are actually better cos u have to use your own brain. plus you get more of a glimpse of special techniques you won't get in a cut and dried tute. more walkthroughs please!!!
(okay, i'll see when i hit member! i don't post much cos it takes long enough just to read all new posts each day!)
