This is a Cover Image Me and Mikael did for the game we are working on. Unfortunately it was done in one evening, so there's a lot of mistakes on the gun and character. But, due to the extremely short deadline, I feel that it went rather ok.

Cool. I'm really curious ... what pixel res did you guys work in to make the cover? I know Dhabih did a few himself, but he never answered my message(s) on this matter.

Very nice! Especially for an evening's work! =)

cheers,
frost.

Frost,
The original size is 2717*3666

Usually I/we like to just make a rezolution so big that I know that there will always be a enough to not see the pixels, no matter what printing size....but, since this was a rush project we picked ca. 300dpi and the cm area, which I can't remember. . .

Hmm, hope that made sense

Oh, btw suma, here's the original size (but, warning: it's really sucks and rough!..):

Top stuff guys! Did you paint it at that resolution or just scaled it up later?

I find that things get a bit slow over 2000 pixels with layers... (or its just my p2 )?

Looks nice, but in my humble opinion the gun takes alot out of that picture. (I know.. I know.. you already said it) But you have barrel going in one direction, the grenade launcher in another direction, and the scope pointing directly at us. The barrel looks a little limp too.

Scope? I sure hope you're not calling that thing shooting the red beam at us a scope, Chapel :P Last time I checked the red things were sights... But seeing as the other inaccuracies you pointed out exsist this could be some new kind of hybrid scope/sight, however, in my eyes doubtful. Also would've liked to see a somewhat more realistic gun, Colt's being as beautiful as they are would certainly be pleasing but Heckler & Koch make some nice looking long range weapons. However the guy with the gun looks more assualtish and less like a long range tactical guy.

Yes it tends to slow down. We painted it in
the high resolution and we had to split
the picture in two in order to work faster.

About the gun, as mentioned, it looks totally wrong. We both saw this when making the image, but didn't really care, since it had to be finished within very few hours. The fact is that the perspective is not all that wrong, but it is the lightning. Since, the gun was rendered in th first place the perspectice is infact placed correct, but some how we managed to fuck up everything when brushing on it. In my eyes it's the metal shading that is different shaded on the barrel and the tip tat makes it all wrong. The red light thing is not supposed to be on the gun, but on the shoulder, but it might be easy to think it's a piece of the gun, which in that case would have been in a totally wrong perspective.

Good damn, I wish we had more time on this to fix up all the mistakes. Maybe the biggest rush project we've ever done. Sorry guys, won't happen again

yaya.. scope... sighting.. whatever it is. Either case its in the wrong spot, cause if it was straight you'd be targeting the back of that handle.

hehe, nice one zapman....
In fact, like I said on my last post regarding this thing, I think it's all about the metal shading. or, infact, I kneew it was the lightning on the front barrel and tip (+ some of the minor brushed details on it don't follow the rest of the gun), since the main perpective of the gun was modelled in the first place.

But hey, nice of you to illustrate it with the perspective lines, that really gives a much clearer view to my explanation
