I know that I have to get a tablet.
Is the Wacom Intuos 6x8 a good tablet?
A friend told me that I shouldnt go below the 9x12. Would the 6x8 offer everything I need(besides the talent) to make professional quality digital pictures?
What tablets are you guys out there using? |

Right boys....ready....steady....KILL IM!!!!!
heh heh...sorry man...this is just one of those questions that are a no-no on the forum cause they get asked of the 15 000 posts so far, oh...about 5000 of them have been about tablets.
Anyways, the 6x8 wacom has a very solid reputation...and you really can't go wrong especially when you're just starting out. i've heard from some people that 9x12 is just too big and unwieldy.

ok, see that little word up near the top of your screen? The one entitled "search"... well, click on it, and search for the words "tablet" and "wacom" and see what happens... you should get sufficient posts to answer ALL the questions regarding tablets taht you can ever have...
oh, and asking about tablets is gonna get you a lot of flame messages, so use the search button as often as possible...

Um...let's play nicely folks. Not many have been turned onto the magic of Wacom..(I only found out through college) And to reiterate what Immi said...6x8 is perfect. That's what I use, and have absolutely no probs with it. I don't recommend going smaller though..it's like drawing on a beer coaster.
And to address the Australia issue..it seems like "everything" would be more expensive down there..I mean..you guys ARE on the bottom of the world....two doors down from Hell I believe...hehe. The only thing cheap there are the kangaroos and dingos (but you have to get them drunk first) :P

6x8 Intuos USB is perfect - don't go bigger!
The tablet's resolution is enough by far and a bigger tablet takes up too much space without any benefits - except when you want to digitze originals with a 4D mouse.
Trust me - 6x8 is p e r f e c t!
