DPI stands for 'dots per inch'
I think it's only relevent when u print.
As far as resolution goes for coloring:
-if u plan on printing your image, make sure the dpi is at least 300, and that your canvas size is no smaller then 4x5 (thats just me, but pictures less then 3 inches wide arent pics, they're thumbnails
-if u plan on just [posting the colored image on the web, then never go above 72dpi, monitors dont need anymore then that.
icq me if u need a hand: 987834
did i make any boo boo's guys? or was all that banter correct?

Pak, pretty close.
DPI definately is dots per inch, but it matters ALOT when you scan. It decides the quality of the scan.
Suhan, you might already be scanning at maximum DPI with a kinda bad scanner, or you just need to change a setting in the software at what DPI to scan at.

You know, i had a scanner until i fell out of bed and smashed the shit out of it, and i still am questioning if any of my explanation is correct.
