face on the right, nostril could be bigger or more visible, longer brow, eye is nice but i would widen it horizontally. Obviously the ear, i dont think you have to paint the whole ear, just cover it with some haiir.
left face, something's wrong with her mouth(there's too much shadow around it, especially on the top)
dunno,
This could be a nice pic. From photos or original ? |

Yoszi, no, actually I won't touch the brow or the eye, wouldn't look good, I tried it. I painted the whole face and the proportions are ok.
As for the mouth, I don't see why it looks like it has alot of shadow around it. Well, maybe I did screw up somewhere since the left one is original, the right one is from a magazine.

That pic rules. Aside from the ear, it's awesome. If you want a wet look to the hair, my main suggestion would be to make it completely straight and slick. Flowing directly downward, with no ridges or stray hairs sticking out. That and some nice shine would make it look a bit wetter. |

Petar...cool stuff man! You sure are good at drawing foxy ladies! I've gotta say i love the woman on the left...the suntanned look gives her a real mysterious and exotic look, and she's definately doing something anyone with a girlfriend knows all about..."The Look!" Yeah...the Look can strike you down cold..
The woman on the right...I'm a monkey's banana if that isn't the lady from Law and Order (I forget her name) Am I right? The only thing I dislike is she seems very hazy...i know you were going for a pure look, but it just doesn't seem right, but I don't know...I am a monkey's banana so I'm probably wrong.
Good job though petar! Sweet stuff |

Hello all. I know you think I am an asshole regarding criticism about my work, but in general, I am not.
So, post anything you like, I won't go nuts like last time. I've learned that by bitching one person involves bitching others aswell, and I don't want that to happen.
So, I apologize for the last time, it won't happen again.
OK, here's the pic.
Its still in early stages.
You might ask yourself why is the face of the left girl "burned".
Well, I did that after I had a HUGE fight with my girlfriend, and the picture shows how women are angels, but sometimes can be real bitches. So, the left face represents evilness, the grease and filth of a human being, while the right one is pure, simple and innocent.
Hope you get what I am saying.
Yeah, the ear is f****d up, still have to work some more on it.
Thanks for your comment. |

otherwise i love the picture!! waiting for the final pic...

umm...only thing I can see is the shadow off the bottom lip on the left face, it makes her bottom lip seem fatter than it is because the shading blends together with the lip (i.e. no distinguishing line) and the hair on the right chick seems like it was buzz cut on the top and left long in the back, i would just suggest smudging it downward or something. Otherwise, that is one hella cool pic. I admire your abilities. |

Nah, not blonde. I hate blonde hair (unless it sits on a kickass swedish babe). Yeah, the ear. Can't get that "REAL" look, y'know
I am actually striving for wet look

Looks cool
Apart from what the others mentioned, the pic looks fine. I really like that rich skin tone!

About the lips, I think I may know what the problem is. I like painting more than writing, though, so I did a quick study:
The skin sort of bends to form the lips, and that forms a slight mound at the side.
Oh well, chances are you know this stuff better than I do anyway.

Guys, thank you very much for the positive feedback, after those 1st 2, I thought noone will like it. And I like it alot.
Everyone who posted some comment is right.
Every each thing you said is absolutely true and I appreciate it.
But, like I wrote in the description.
The main goal wasn't the photo look, it was more of a feeling you get from it. Therefore I am happy immi got it.
Affected, thanks for the pic, you have a nice style, I like it, but the left face just HAS to be filthy, greasy, with lotsa shadows and striking colours.
I might fix it too see how it looks, and I'll show you the next version.
- immi - dunno if this is gonna answer your question about the haze, see, I toned it down to bring more accent to the other face. Dunno, maybe I am wrong =)))
Thanks again,
dP

Hey DP.
The pic looks great! But I think the girl to the right is a little too usaturated, and looks washed out that way. Saturation-wise, the left one really stands out more. I guess this is what Spooge meant about value and color being two very different things.
Great work Der!
Seeing all those new posts makes me realize that I should probably start drawing from reference. All the stuff looks fantastic.
Cheers.

And Petar says: LET THERE BE FLOWERS =)
I changed the lightning, as you can see, I was quite happy with the summer-noon-sun look, so I let it live.
Also, switched to more of 'airbrushed' look, I like it.
hope you like it too.
Later,
dP |

wow the second looks much better...when I saw the first I didn't feel the mood you were going for but then you put up this beauty, and then I was swept away. Great piece. From a mood POV and not from a technical POV I'd suggest not changing a thing. Great work... |

The flower!! I love how you made it connect to the hair of the girl on the left. Signifying the oneness....but yet two totally different people, maybe I am way off but thats what I got from it

I really like the flower dP! (I love painting themself myself too)
It was a good decision to increase the contrast on the right-side face, in your first version it looked a bit too hazy, like there was a 20% opacity white layer on top of it... Now it's just great, still looking light and pure like an angel compared to the left-side one, which I guess is just the effect you wanted.

Great. thanks guys.
Yes, I am very happy with it now (I did it last night, and you all know how things look the next morning =))
I'll answer some questions:
Kos - nah, its not softcore girlie =). She (her face) is the first thing that popped up in my mind (maybe she is what I want in a girl =)
Error - hehe, maybe, altho it looks fine to me (like the buquet is placed behind the ear)
n8 - nah, ok maybe. I would prolly lose alot of time fixing the ear, but I did have in mind flowers of some sort, maybe a ring around the head. This was a better idea since it boosted up the contrast between the face, leaving it almost white (ok, I brightened it some more =)
Saffron - hehe, I knew you would like it. Actually, I was thinking of going to your site, and check out how you did that flower for (hmmmmm, don't remember the demo) since I didn't have any photos (and I don't know the english or latin name for flowers, so I just had to do it by myself) I like how it turned out.
And now I would like to know something.
Reading thru various posts, I have seen terms "photo repaint" and "photo reference"
and some ppl were mixing these two.
I used photo reference, meaning I had a photo on my desk, not on a different layer, for the right-side face. The rest is original
thx for your time,
dP |

i see two slight problems on the angelic chica'... first her eyebrow looks like it is floating, and second her chin has a slight sharp edge to it,.
my opinion
