I first made a drawing of a horse from a picture and added the samurai and stuff, then scanned it and colored it in PS. The original image is 2051*3254 300dpi. I'm having problem deciding what kind of face he's going to have (that eye-glow looks pretty cheesy) and I'm still working on the background. Perhaps a few more riders comming behind him and a mountain with a castle on top, stormy weather and lightning would help? The image is made just for fun, and has no purpose whatsoever. Keep in mind that it's not finished yet!
Any ideas about what I can add/fix?
thx.

kickass
What the hell happened with the dithering in the lower left corner? Is that too much noise, or you are having trouble with airbrush like some other ppl do?

Yep -it's dust. Take a look at the large image and you'll see it better. Crap or what? -Anyways, the background isn't finished yet |

Looks good, I think you've got the right
idea about getting rid of the eye glow...
maybe some kind of mask or face plate (armor)
...add more riders, castle, lightning too,
that sounds cool! |

It looks absolutely awesome, the level of detail is very impressive...
The only thin i'd change is the way he holds his sword; it looks too light and easy. Make his arm more rigid, and the hand grasping, clamping the sword rather than loosely holding it. For the rest, 17 0wNz

thx! There's something else I have to fix with his right hand too, the index finger's nail is too big, and the thumb looks crap... I might avoid this by closing his hand more, as you said, covering the fingers with the thumb.
But first I have to make up a better background and maybe fix the shading a bit. Back to work!
Adding a mask would be cool too. Anyone seen the game SHOGUN: Total War? Great strategy-game which comes out soon. I tried a demo yesterday.
My inspiration comes from films like RAN and the armour-collection a friend of mine has. I also practice Kendo and Iaido. btw -have you seen the new commercial for Nike soccer-shoes? Those Kendo-outfits are CRAP!

Looks incredible!
Maybe it'd look a bit better with the sword pointing to the southwest giving it the sense of weight or make it look more intimidating *shrug*
I love his left arm and the armor, very nice details, the horse looks excellent too.

Ruyter, the picture is very swank looking! good job. The horse especially looks great. The hand needs some work as noted, and yes...you've gotta get rid of those cheesy eye glows. Also, u have that eery green lighting on the right side of his body (well...our right, his left) but it doesn't seem to repeat anywhere else.
But those are just niggles...the pic looks good. |

Just make the right arm more dramatic(look at how-to-draw-comic type books)
He looks like "uh-oh, you better watch out, or I'm gonna drag this sword ever so slightly across your face", when he should be like, "I'm gonna rip your fu**ing face of with this sword, then ram it up your a**!!!"
Sorry for that, i have a headache and am approaching delirium.
