I've been reading some of the older posts (because I'm a nerd and have nothing better to do :P), and I've noticed a few people on these forums have improved INCREDIBLY over a very short time.
Specifically, I noticed jasonN and Affected have REALLY improved. And seeing jasonN is only 15(?), I think he's gonna be really great some day. And Affected, at first I didn't really "understand" his stuff, but as of late he has totally blown me away. I'm sure there are many others that have made signifficant leaps forward, sorry if I didn't mention you guys.
Anyway, just something I noticed and thought was cool -- these forums are magical

Thanks!
If I may throw in a little self-analysis here, I think the biggest realization for me lately has been how great the paintbrush is in PS. It suits my style better than the airbrush, ans I'd like to thank Spooge Demon for mentioning it in one or several of this posts.
BTW, I was walking down the street today, when I noticed these big easter-themed billboards with brightly coloured bunnies, and immediately noticed they'd been painted with the paintbrush in PS.

AS far as I remember that guy was very good to begin with, only he used a mouse. Maybe he's gotten a tablet?

I don't know if this is what helped jasonN and Affected or not, but that's what's cool about this forum. Criticism from others and being able to view other people's work (especially progressively) really helps people - primarily beginners, but quite possibly even experienced painters - to fine tune their skills...
It's for this reason why I don't think people should shitbag newbies, as everyone has to start somewhere. As long as they're participating in the community, and preferably producing artwork, they should get a chance.
Sorry, but after reading this forum for months, it's a bit depressing to see the increase in negativity between many users.
But back to the point - yeah, good work jasonN and Affected (and everyone else honing their talents), keep it up!

Not necessarily you need tablet for better stuff.
Take me, I can't do shit with tablet, I preffer mouse. And I still find mouse more precise than tablets, coz doing gfx with that pen isn't even near working with traditional pencil. IMHO
