This is going to be the first image that I am going to "TRY" and color in PS....guess I am just looking for some pointers on how to go about it. Mainly I need help on the lighting, How do you keep the light source consistent through ought the painting? I adjusted the Levels so you could see it better....its not this dark in the pic I am working with. Feedback is very much welcome.

I'm by no means an expert, but I usually just set down a nice neutral base color, and use semi-transparant colors on top of that....the most important thing would be to keep it consistent, and let the shadows flow over the form of the face etc.
