I am looking for a book, web - tutorial,
or swift kick in the ass that can help
me learn how to draw muscles correctly.
I would like to be able to draw figures
which are anatomically correct, and
then use that knowledge to draw figures
which have exagerated features.
I guess I am most interested in recourses
on the web (tutorials), but books would
be okay too. Thanks in advance. |

Yo Dude, go to your local supermarket and pick up a copy of "Muscle and Fitness" magazine. I don't think you could find a better, more realistic, and cheaper source of reference for male physiology. For women, try to get your hands on some lingerie catalogs (hey, they work). I live with a girl, so I get them in my mailbox at least twice a month anyways. These will help your perception of proportion and anatomy. After that, you will have to train yourself in depicting realistic body movements and poses, which is usually best done with video sources, in my opinion. For example, I like to rent martial arts movies and click pause on certain poses and scenes which I think look really good. Hope that helps.
