I am ready to purchase a domain name, but I am a little lost on how to do this. I know that I must go to network solutions the register the name, but which package is reccomended? Also, who do you guys have hosting the site? Did you get a highspeed connection and designate a server( is this even possible with the isp??), or do you guys use a monthly service and ftp it up?

This is not for the freebie sites, i have 1 of them, but im looking for my own name now.

Hi Edge!
You can register your domain name with a few different online services. The one I use is network solutions(www.networksolutions.com)

As far as hosting your site, I suggest using www.CiHost.com . I use them and they have been great so far. The package to get from them is their "Special" it comes with practically everything you may need. I use them to host all of my sites

I registered at network solutions and my server belongs to a friend of mine, he has a fast enough connection to be able to host.

I think network solutions is still the only way to register (i could be wrong)
