How many of you guys get frusterated when drawing or cant think of what and or how to draw something?
i get it all the time. especialy when trying to draw people. ive had a life drawing class. it helped, but i get frusterated when draw sometimes. maybe im to picky or just need to draw more often and get more practice.
how do you guys deal with such situations?
and also. does any one know of any good life drawing books? |

Holy crap, there are times when I start a sketch, then I end up erasing the same damn part over and over again, then I take the freakin' book and rip out the fuc*ing page with the sh*tty sketch, then drench it in lighter fluid, strike a match, then burn the freakin' crap! *huff huff huff*
wha...what...did I uhhh...say that...where am I...anyway...oh yea, I just keep drawing and practicing until I think what was lacking before is fixed. Drawing should be fun, if ever it stops being that, drop it for a few days, then start over. Otherwise you could wreck something that could develop into something really special to you.

p.s. the above was stated as a slight exaggeration, of course it is 12:30 and I'm already really lacking sleep so... |

I have days when I just can't draw a damn thing. I realize that soon enough and stop trying before I start weeping.

Hmm, sorry for bringing this topic back, but, here's something I hope helps.
In general, people have trouble 'projecting' a shape into odd angles and perspective. For example, you might wonder how to draw an arm that is in some odd angle and somewhat parallel to the camera or view.
Try to simplify what you want to draw. Instead of drawing a head, or an arm, etc., try to draw spheres or cylinders, playing around with more basic geometry to try and get the right angle. Use a perspective grid to help you (this is ALWAYS a good idea no matter what the image).
By using these simpler objects to represent your character and adding perspective (using persp. grid(s)) to them will give you the basic shape of the form/body.
It's always more important to get the shapes right than to add great detail. (The same goes for colors...)
