Hi there,
It would be helpfull if you wrote some words to your picture. I'm curious why there is such a big gap in quality between your background and your dwarf. He looks way better than the rest of your painting.

Acapulco: it is funny how the author and the viewers watch differently the same picture. I remember Spooge Demon saying in this same forum long ago, that he never knew what speedpainting was going to be liked and which not.

This is what happens a bit here: I thought both items (background and figure) were quite sketchy, but it seems everybody views the figure as quite finished as opposing to the mountains. Well, it has an easy explanation: I love painting human figures, and I don't know too much about snow (where I live only snows once a year, and it doesn't fixes on the ground), which isn't an excuse as I could use reference.

So, Acapulco, thanks a lot for the heads up!!! It looks that you have added some homework for my weekend: improving that background! Laughing Laughing Laughing

I think you can either simplify the background or give it more detail. I really like the piece as it is though it looks heavy carrying all that, nice work. Smile

Just a suggestion from me.

I think it would be useful to add something that helps to put the dwarf in scale. I mean that without the word dwarf on the picture, he could also be a 200m tall giant trampling the mountains without a visual reference to scale.

I really like the character. Smile
