But in absence of that ill settle for :
Hardware:
Dual 1GHZ cpu setup
1026MB DDRRAM
64MB Oxygen card + 64MB Geforce for kicks
21" Monitor
3 40Gig SCSI ultra wide HD's (one storage, one work, one scratchdisk)
CD writer
DVD drive
Whatever A3D/EAX supporting fucko-card
Your own 6 coaxed T3 lines (but ill settle for 8Mbit ADSL).
The boxes of my stereo
One Bigass Wacom Tablet
HP Laserprinter with separation capability like i used to have at work.
AGFA Snapscan 1212U
Razer Boomslang for the fuck of it.
Software
Photoshop 5.5
Illustrator 9.0
Flash 4.0
Livemotion
QuarkXpress 4.0
A. Indesign for the fuck of it
Winamp
Quicktime 4.0
Lightwave 6 (not the bloody beta)
Half-Life (counter-strike)
Project IGI
Team Fortress 2
Finish
Housing sprayed matte black with big hotrod-style red/yellow flames on it and a big white skull on the front. Monitor sprayed in tigerstripe camouflage with big shark's teeth around the screen and eyes next to it. Everything covered in awesome (band)stickers such as converge, ISIS, shadows fall, at the gates, nora, etc.
notes:
Ofcourse you have 2 of these on a home network so you can use one as web/game/ftp server.

Why the hell not a Intel Pentium III 1.13GHz (1133MHz)
And a Voodoo 5 ??!...PFFF!! That card is lightyears behind the Geforce 2 Ultra (1.0 gigapixel per second-500$) or wait a while for the Voodoo 6000 (1.2-1.37 gigapixel per second-599$)...IF that card will be ever released...
Oh, and get Adsl, not cable...
And the comp must have a pink color...yay!

Must shoot lasers and rockets like the computer in Superman 3.
And make hot chicks out of Barbie dolls like in Wierd Science.
Thats my ideal computer.
Oh ya and I also would like that new Wacom tablet that is a Lcd flat screen and you just hold it on your lap or wherever and paint right on it. Now that would be cool.

A 42" plasma screen would be purdy sweet.
What about sound then? Mostly neglected by you artistic/visual types.
I'd personally (if money wasn't an issue) spend something like $2000 easy on a proper amplifier and subwoofer and 4+ (hifi quality)speakers.
Oh, and 8+ 74gig SCSI hard drives would be nice too.
And a internet connection that would make AOL envious.
Oh yeahhh...
