I made this in high school, many years ago. I took some photos a few days ago. I used the metal lathe at high school. It was the first and last thing I made with it.
The gun carriage is 2.25 inches long.
The wood has no fasteners, just friction.
You can slide a firecracker in the barrel and the fuse goes out the touch hole.
There is just enough room to put a pebble in the end of the barrel.
When you fire it the whole thing flips backwards about 12". I never did a proper range test, but I know the rock hit a shed 20 feet away.

Nice, I'm lovin this. I'd go build one right now if I had a metal lathe. Thanks for posting, I really enjoyed looking at it. |
