I'm working on series of paintings based on a lone tree theme... These are the first three...
I've moved from Philadelphia to Colorado... not doing much digital anymore, other than using it to compose and layout stuff for oil painting.

I'm hitting my 70th birthday in a couple weeks...
...So I'm retired with a nice income. I don't really have to live off the paintings, but I do have a few galleries interested, so I am going to try and make some extra money with them... The Fine Art biz is very different from commercial illustration or gaming work. There is virtually no connection between the two, so I'm essentially starting over. _________________ HonePie.com

Funny how that works, my favourite is the second one.
You have some things that takes up attention though, I hope it is ok with a paintover? In the first piece it is detail in the low middle section, which to me consumes attention which makes the viewer look less at the trees.
I really love the colors and mood.
ah enough rambling, here's the overpaint:
Edit, ok I took the overpaint down since you saw it eyewoo. Not sure about hotlink policy from my webprovider either.....

Btw sorry about the color profile, I use Gimp and I guess it didn't recognize your Adobe 98 color profile....
So it became rather colorful now that I looked at it, sorry about that. |

ok I took it down because of hotlinking policy (not sure how dramatic one should be about that but I need my site for my recourses), I am glad you liked the overpaint. |

I think I spent about a week on it, painting several hours a day. I have other things I work on during the day... frame making, internet interaction, etc. _________________ HonePie.com

these are great eyewoo! I like the progression shot best, the ones in the middle look so interesting with a little underpaint peaking through, and the finished is very powerful with the warm and cool meeting like that |

Thanks...
This is a portrait of a wonderful lady who owns an incredible thrift store and let's me borrow stuff for my still life painting. The portrait is an appreciation gift for her. 20" x 18" oil on panel.
...the painting stages

Hi, Eyewoo! I really like your oil paintings. All of them are excellent. My favorite is the first painting in your lone tree series. I find the color so soothing and the details are well done. I also appreciate that you posted the stages of development of some of your works. They show how meticulous one can get when it comes to painting. By the way, that thrift store lady is really lucky to receive such kind of appreciation gift. Thanks for sharing all these. _________________ John Briner Art |
