I was wondering if any of you all had any color schemes, like that go together I am not good at all when I comes to color. In Kindergarten (i dont even know if that is spelled right) I colored uglier than the rest of the kids sure i stayed inside the lines but the colors the colors did not match so can anybody give me like a cople of color schemes that you know would go good together for some thing like websites.
Al suggestions/posts are appreciated!

"Blue and Yellow Don't Make Green"
by Michael Wilcox
It's mostly refers to real media, but covers our whole perception and misconceptions about color. It's weird but true, blue and yellow really don't make green.

how'd that happen pigeon? if i remember correct, blue lightwaves reflect blue and green, while yellow lightwaves reflect yellow and green, so when blue and yellow are mixed together, the blue and yellow cancel out each other, leaving green. |

Let's see if I can remember, and sum this up succinctly:
We're talking about real paint here - RYB primaries , not lightwave RGB or printing CMYK.
As you may know, white light is made of all colors. And an object is percieved to be a certain color because it absorbs all colors except the one it reflects. An apple is red because it absorbs all colors except red.
So, if we were to have a paint made of PURE yellow pigment particles, it would absorb ALL colors except yellow, and reflect the yellow light around until it reaches our eye.
If we have a paint made of PURE blue pigment particles, it would absorb all colors except blue, and reflect blue light around until it reaches our eye.
Now, if we mix those blue pigment particles with the yellow pigment particles, what happens? The yellow reflects only yellow light, which bounces around off of other yellow particles, but is ABSORBED by the BLUE particles. Vice versa, the blue particles reflect only blue light, which is absorbed by all the yellow particles. Consequently NO light is reflected by the paint mixture, leaving a black mush.
However, in reality it is impossible to make a pure blue or yellow pigment, so yellow and blue make green simply because the impure pigment of each color also reflects a lot of green. Since the green light is reflected from both pigments, and the yellow and blue light is respectively absorbed, we end up seeing green. So yes dennison, you were right - the whole concept is just a catch-phrase for the book, and while it is solid physics, the situation doesn't exist in reality.
Our digital usage of color blows all that out of the water, and I suppose any paint 'mixing' we do on the screen is just mathematical formulas based on popular notions of how color behaves.
The book goes into even further detail about the physics, but also how to mix colors, and how the colors all relate, which is why I suggested it.

so when is your book do out?
and do we get a free copy? =)
COlor is color use it wize or not. its the overall of the image that matters, but color does matter alot..
I got all tons of info on color when i took art classes in HighSchool.
RED = Makes ppl eat more, thats why most food place are red.
Brown = Nice, welcoming, friendly etc... UPS people have on brown clothing.(yat we still dont get the packge on time!)
all that and more can be fround on the internet i am sure of it

in short for those who cant be bothered to read all this:
blue+yellow=cyangreen
lightblue(cyan)+yellow=green
if you look in the colorselector in photoshop you'll see that yellow is "r:255 g:255 b:0" and blue is "r:0 g:0 b:255 "
so if you take the average of those 2 you get "r:128 g:128 b:128"...uhh.....no thats grey, must be wrong...
kay,,,if you get into the colorselector and press the B youll see the colors red yellow green cyan blue purple red
soo...between yellow and blue is "green and cyan" kay..and between green and cyan is "green!!" uh noo, its some green kinda color but its not pure green
hmm..but if you look at yellow and cyan(or light blue it could be called), the color in between those is green.TADAAA!!
so its just a big missunderstanding!
ooor...i could be all wrong =)
