You have nice ideas and a feel of color, but you should use harder brushes. It's very blurry _________________ *

Au contraire, I *like* the blurry look. It's used locally - in spots - not universally, and it adds a lot to the atmosphere. |

These all have an incredible sense of atmosphere. Very dramatic. I can almost hear these pieces. It's hampered by the "blurriness" mentioned above I think - maybe moreso a lack of confidence in your brushwork. I see a bit of smudginess and soft-brush noodling. You could use some hard edges and strategic spots of texture to balance the blurriness, otherwise while these are very vibrant and moody pieces they don't really engage me. |
