So I've dabbled with 3d a number of times in the past but often will play with it for a few weeks then drop off. I hope to stick with it this time, we'll see!
In any case I've got a couple of questions, I'm using C4D and have run into some texturing issues. The football helmet has a logo on both sides, so I've got 2 textures dropped on there using the uvw mapping. The logo on the right side is fine(using an x offset of 38% to get the position). The problem is the left side. The place I want the logo to be is near the 0 x offset so if I shift it to where I want it(a negative x offset) it cuts off part of the texture. If I do a x offset larger than 100% to go all the way around it cuts off the logo from the end rather than the beginning.
Should I be using uvw mapping in this case? Can I move the uvw base so that the "seam" is in a different spot or is there a way to span the seam?
Also what technique do you use most often for modeling? For the helmet I started with 2 polygon spheres, cut the face portion from both and welded them together, finally dropping them into a hypernurbs object to smooth things out? It seems like there are so many ways to do things and it is often hard to find the "best" way to go about creating something.
Thanks! |

Hey
I think you would get more help in a forum dedicated to your specific software. I use Blender so I cannot answer your question.
There's a 3d thread you are welcome to join in the finished discussion if you want.
keep up. |
