Russian police squad ambushes a car with criminals who just robbed a bank and killed at least one.
The video is called "Wrong place at the wrong time" and you'll see why..

Hey man, each walks down his own street in life.
I know a kid younger than me who's been through war in Chechnya as a special ops. He told me some stories.. But now he can't leave the country or talk about some of the things they did there, at least not for a number of years. The last I've heard of him, he was trying to make ends meet in security. Most probably he already joined the guys on the video or the mafia.
War heroes are not always treated as they should be in Russia.. Like that guy who shot down John McCain in Vietnam (who basically saved his life from Vietnamese villagers). One returned home a war hero, another lived the rest of his life in obscurity in bad conditions. I think that story is also on Englishrussia.com |

Poor guy your friend, hope the mafia treats him good. Joking aside I hear you rel shitty cirumstances overthere.
That war in Chechnya is no good pr for russia. Good pr for their leaders domestic perhaps? Would the world have done something if russia was without nukes?
What I meant with my comment was that I'm grateful some can walk a "ballsier" street in life than others, and also amazed they do, as you've heard from your friend it's no child play. Encountered some bad shit myself recently, shook me to the core. |

When it comes to war, leaders and politics, a lot of it is based on history. Which I gave up on. The very etymology of the word, as I see it, is "history = his story". Do you believe his story? People on both sides of the war, normal people, believe in his story. War, among other things, is often the consequence.
As far as "toughness" is concerned.. Russia is indeed hardcore. And the war in Chechnya is not a good/bad PR for Russia.. It is Russia. If they did everything nicely it wouldn't be called Russia and you wouldn't see those exciting police ambush videos online. You know what I mean?
But right now I'm happy to live in the land of "untoughness" where the concept of "street life" virtually doesn't exist. There is crime, but it's just pathetic compared to some hole in America or just about anywhere in Russia (lol). This relative safety has its tradeoffs.. like the abundance of painfully cute clothes on people, stupid haircuts and extremely cheezy TV shows about mamma's boys achieving their career goals and then thanking their mothers on national TV with tears in their eyes.
Fine by me.. although it does seem to rub off on me sometimes. The old Russian tank is being painted pink.
x_____O
WTF am I talking about?.... oh well, continuing the tradition of RANDOM MUSINGS! |

I guess you need police animals to deal with criminal animals. Days of the hero cops are long gone. |
