ok, my wacom 9x12 came with an extremely terrible pen holder. like, the pen falls right out with even the lightest tap. the weirdest thing is that i used to have a 4x5 wacom and the penholder was great, tho the pen was a bit smaller. so, did you guys get the same deal or what?

Mein 9x6 has an unstable pen holder too.. the pen is at about 45 degrees and only very tip is put in. (the holder has two horizontal cavities.. just trying to explain =) Well i put it on a thing on which my monitor stands so now only nuclear explosion would bring my pen down!!!!

Jeezus,

the tip of your pen is made so that it can be removed and replaced if it is damaged or worn out (anybody ever managed to wear one out btw?). So don't listen to zapman and use superglue. These pens are bloody expensive if you have to buy them seperately ($60 and up). My advice is to contact Wacom and inform them about it. Possibly they'll offer you a replacement pen. I've had good experiences with Wacom's helpdesk, so it's worth a try.

Duh! I just noticed you were talking about the penholder, not the tip. In that case, don't use superglue, just throw the damn pen holder in the bin.

Not quite awake yet apparently,
Danny

Zap: an extra few pounds, hehe. very useful when drawing. =)
Dan: haha... =)

My Wacom pen is usually among the rest of my writing utensils like ink pens, pencils and such. The Wacom pen holders make nice paper weights, and nothing more. =) (although they apparently make good chew toys for small dogs!)

frost.

Does anyone here use more than one pen with their Intuos? They're supposed to have a unique ID so the pad can tell the difference and you can have them set differently. I haven't found a reason yet to get another one though.

Hey, wait. Can you use two pens at once on the Intuos? All you ambidextrous people out there, imagine drawing with both hands! :P
(Ok, so you could just just pick up two pens and some paper and tell me it doesn't work.=)

B,

wow.. you must draw VERY heavy handed to shave off a couple of mils.. I only once changed the tip cos I was getting scratch marks on my tablet.

Blind & Affected,

a friend of mine at Virgin Interactive (where they're using muliple Intuos tablets and pens) told me that the pens are actually the storage device of all the settings of the tablet. So when you take your pen and draw something on somebody's elses tablet the settings are immediately adopted. Top notch or what!

Affected,

my tablet is about 3 years old now (Ultrapad A4). I got about 5 extra pen tips with the tablet and a little circular pincer to extract the old tip. Guess that means I'm sorted for another 15+ years..

Danny: My tip is that way, too... They say I need to call Wacom in GERMANY to get a replacement. I mean, it's a tiny little piece of plastic!
Anyhow, how long have you had your pen and tablet? I've used mine for, I think, 4 years now, so it's no wonder it's a bit worn.
