Hi guys

Here is this the answer for those that asked me how I began my illustrations.

This is the pencil sketch of a illustration in progress called
"The Hunters", Im making it with Painter and Photoshop.
Hope you like it!
Best

Very cool sketch, VALZ. I dig it. The shading is awesome. How big is it, 811"? What did you use, 6B's? Just curious. I like hearing all the gritty details about how people do stuff like this

Im using a 2B for shading and HB for the details. The size is
8 11". (its only a sketch).
I think shades in sketches are very important and helpful for the
color and the "shading" work in the digital step.

Wow, the shading is amazing. You are great at capturing light and shadow with your pencil. I love it!

The guy sort of reminds me of a character from a relatively old comic, Stormwatch. And the girl kinda reminds me of J. Scott Cambell's EEAARRLLYY work on Gen 13 - Unfortunately Cambell blows ass now

Anyway, great work!

Dukez,

Personally, I would go for 'red' hair for the chick, blonde is too common for heros

Who cares what colour her hair is, I'm sure Valz will make it look good no matter what colour hair she has. But I'm sure the guy in the background must be an alien of some sort to have arms coming out of the middle of his torso like that. Which leads me to wonder what these two do in their sparetime? Ewww... interspecies mating.

I just love the muscularity of your characters (I mailed you 'bout that a few days ago, please check your mail), but what I'm more interested in, are the fundamentals of your drawings... Could you show me (us) how you set up a character? Do you use stick-figures or volume-boxes? Please scan a few lines and make my life a lot brighter

i like it a lot!!!! its very cool and very detailed. i have this idea in my head for the color scheme that you might pick....so instead of blurting something out right now im going to slightly splash some color on it and keep it untill your post the final, then ill see how close i was =) hehe i like coloring!
