Hi guys!
I've been a silent reader for a while, and then decided to post my first work in progress.
It's nothing special, just an exercise (mood) we had in our painting classes (that I don't consider finished, of course ... ). I tried to place some simple monolithic shapes inside a picture I took.
Any constructive comments will be appreciated
Thanks for looking

something that would help get the additions to fit in better with the photo material is just using a much bigger brush to block in the shapes. The hairy texture you get now probably isn't intended to depict surface texture on the shapes? Also I think, given the position of the sun in the image, that the shapes would be much darker silhouettes in reality. Look how dark the forest is all around, the sun is very low and would, at most, be hitting the facing side of the big monolith at a very steep angle, if even that. |
