We all have opinions about this guy for or against. But one thing we can agree upon is that he is a living legend!
And now that legend is going to be part of ALL 8 episodes of a quality tv comedy show called "hjlp" ("help!") along with some of swedens top comics. It will be airing this spring on swedish public tv.
He will be playing a forreign correspondent who get's kicked out of his house and have all of his credit cards canceled by his wife when she dumpes him for another man. He then meets a swedish guy called rjan Lax and funny things ensues from thereafter.
Now in sweden this is big and exciting news, maybe not so much in the US.
Swedish comedian Johan Rheborg who will be playing alongside Chevy comments the news with: All I can say about it is "he is Chevy Chase and I'm not!".
I can't find any interview or a quote from Chevy himself on why he is taking part of this, if any of you guys can google better than me please post that here.
All of you americans who think this is a new low for Chevy, what you forget is that there are actually talented comedians/writers in Europe, even here in icy cold Stockholm!
Well watcha guys think? |

It's far from a "new low", but I'd bet overseas work is likely the only work he can get.
I've heard all over the place that he's tremendously difficult to work with.
A friend of mine that lived in Edmonton, AB said that when he left after working on "Snow Day" the local newspaper actually ran a one-page ad sponsored by the community asking that he never come back.
Poor Chevy, he was always one of my favs. He had a rough time after the 80's. |

That's sad. I read some time ago he had problems getting along with the castmembers on SNL, allegedly that's the main reason why he left.
Most people mellow a bit as they get older so he should hopefully be ok by now. He seems to be quite on the logical side mentally Chevy, haven't seen him truly interact with anyone, only trashing people who can't keep up with his fast talk. Yeah probably not a people person, not ideal in showbiz. |
