Hello,
I am curious about your opinion on these ones. How could I improve?
Bye,
quaternion

Avoid color until you are more comfortable with consistent strokes and shading. Color will complicate things. |

How?
I also tried nature and architectural environments. Is it better to work on studies, tutorials etc., or just to paint whatever you feel like painting, sometimes from reference, sometimes without? |

If your aim is to get good as quickly as possible, it's better to start with the basics. The human body is the most complex thing you can paint, and best left for after you have the basics well in hand.
I'd suggest start with copies of photographs of small, simple objects. Like photos of mugs, or pencils, or phones, etc. First concentrate on drafting (the drawing) and get good at accurately reproducing the image in line work. Then move on to rendering the image with values, perhaps entirely in grays initially so that the colors don't put you off. And only then start looking at colors.
Try to push yourself at each step. Work on the drawing until it is as close to accurate as you can get it. If something is wrong, erase it and do it again. Work on the shading until it as accurate as you can get it. If something is blotchy or blurry or messy, keep working on it, don't just give up when you've barely started. This stage is as much about learning how to use the tools, and how to get the results you need, as it is about reproducing what you see in the photo.
And then after photos you move onto real objects. Put an apple on the desk in front of you and paint it until it's as accurate as you can get it.
And then, sometime in the distant future, when you're comfortable with the tools and have the basics well in hand, you can take another crack at the human form. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

Thank you Sumaleth,
could you think of a good book, online tutorial, or video to learn the basics? |
