Will I get anywhere?
I think you can already get work professionally but everyone needs improvement.

Just here to show you my work since I can't put it in my gallery. I recently graduated as a Sequential/Conceptual Illustrator and I have only gotten to show my work to a few people and I was hoping to hear what any of you had to say about it.

Later I'll be able to upload my current professional work that I've done for my company but as of now there is an NDA on it and I can't. Most of this is just for a personal story I'm trying to develop. I have a lot more for it than I'm showing here but I hear it's alright to be brief for starters.

I'm bad at watermarking stuff but certain things here are very dear to me but if you wish to see any without the obnoxious watermarks, please let me know and I will post it in higher res without watermark.

Although I'm currently working for someone, I'm happy to take on anything else one may think to pay an illustrator for- I'll draw your character or fan-art or whatever. Chat with me whenever as I'm always on AIM with "NotFrom3rdRock" and hopefully that will be nice.

Glad to see so many art enthusiasts out here, I hope I get to talk more with you soon.

Portraits, mostly in natural media

Dry Pastel (two master copies in there)

stuff

This is just a closeup on the facial style I prefer to draw in. Although he's a samurai I'm trying not to be too obviously manga-esque with certain choices but others I've come to be rather comfortable with.

Concept phase of Appelo Promontorium or Promont

Skeletal construction (derp)

Musculature development (with cutaway and multiple views) and Head integument

Finalizing development- action poses, full integument and growth views, views without obstructions

incomplete cover or poster

Misc armor designs and characters (things to develop later)

redoing a character I designed in the 2nd grade Razz

couple more of my girlfriend jenn

I also dabble in sculpting. I plan on getting better at it as I really want to make figurines of my characters to sell.

The samurai one was done very quickly but I think its still worth showing. I'd also like to be paid to do it someday but I do have a long way to go.
(does real life sculpting skill carry over to 3d modeling well?)

I was commissioned for a children's book recently (although i don't know if its being published or not) and I'm in the midst of conceptualizing a look for the illustrations. I'm moving very slowly on this as I'm awful at working on child friendly styles.

huff...

I may post more later, I eagerly wish to hear from you all and thank you for clicking my thread.

Don't remove any work! This place is not opposed to natural media.

Yes, you are easily qualified to turn those skills into a salary, imho.

Many of these look really good, but those watermarks are killing whatever they touch. You'll notice that no one else here uses them. They are always either bad enough to ruin the work, or easy enough to remove that they're pointless.

But yeah, I'd say your work is good enough to get paid for, which it seems that you already are.

I guess it's technically "professional" but... it's pretty low profile stuff. I guess I just meant like... bigger...?

Thank you so much for your feedback all of you. Also thank you for telling me that I can leave the natural stuff up. I didn't want to throw off the groove of the forum or anything I just got caught up in showing stuff...

I've been told about the watermarks in the past and I agree that they do kill the work, I just never know of how to do what I guess when it comes to posting.

pretty good stuff, i would say u need more practice on figures conceptually. Your life drawings are great but i dont feel that you fully incorporate that into your characters that are imagined.

Its good stuff, you're talented. Work your way away from the anime stigma, because there are way too many talented artists stuck in that style Very Happy
