Hello
I made some time ago this illustration depicting a dromedary
http://community.imaginefx.com/fxpose/jp_vieiras_portfolio/picture30733.aspx
This was my first time I painted such an animal.
I had to experiment with some techniques for the fur appearance of this animal.
Basically I painted the base colour and then gave it the appearance of fur by highlighting and shadowing some areas using a purposely made brush (using the burn and dodge tools in Photoshop) at the edges I painted using the same brush.
Although I was satisfied with this technique it time consuming: does anyone know of a more rapid technique for giving the appearance of animal fur? Or other techniques that present a more realistic looking fur?
Best regards
JP Vieira

custom hair and fur brushes, like the Sarsa brushes will save you a lot of time and effort. A Web search will turn up a few places where you can download them.
