Wow - Very cool painting. Really like the monster and the composition.
I have to agree with suma. And the girls face could need some work too imo. It's technically well rendered I just think it doesn't fit the character I'd expect her to be,...
Oh, and I truly love the detail on the building parts.
Is there a story behind this image? |

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback as always.
3nasty - background is sketchup; I'm a huge fan of that program.
tomasis - nah, that's not me, it's some white chick. thanks, glad you like it.
max - thank you; yes, there is a story. It's for a self published anthology project I'm working on with a couple of friends. I'm still working on it, but once it's more or less ironed out I'll post more about it.
Sumaleth - thanks man!
to all - yeah, I'm still struggling with finding a groove for drawing stylized (but not TOO stylized) figures. _________________ Francis Tsai

I do think the girl is the weakest area but otherwise really nice work. The colouring is really impressive, quite saturated but very tastefully executed which I think is tricky balance, well done! |

I think Iandredd summed the image up the best. All around it looks awesome. Maybe add in some gooey slimy stuff around the monster for that "ew gross". The chick is where some extra work could be done. To be honest though, she looks really good, great character design. But it's her mouth and especially her leg positions that screw me up a bit when I look at her. The legs aren't exactly positioned in a way I can really understand what she's doing: is she running, about to run, recently standing up? It's hard to tell. Granted action sequence perspective can be a bitch, I definitely understand that. I'm somewhat unsure what the problem is with the mouth, it just looks a bit "wrong". Maybe if there was more shading *inside* her mouth? I think that might be it. The interior looks too monochromatic and flat to me, there should be a darker portion further inside to add more depth to it. That might fix it outright.
Just some thoughts, but it's an awesome drawing. Oh yeah, and put some strategically placed tears in the girls suit, that'd add some sex appeal to it. _________________ Shredded Moose - Web 2.0 taken to the Xtreme with ultra-mango potential! |

I agree with most of the crits, but the only thing really bothering me is the mouth and the ponytail, which I think could be less straight but more bent to imply more motion, or positioned less prominently. Not sure what, but for some reason it constantly attracts my focus. |

Like others have mentioned, the posture of the girl could use some tweaking to better explain the context of the scene, but overall, lovely rendering.
i just noticed 'she' has a slight bulge in the crotch |

Hey! Good work francis, like the monster and background! But what is the girl looking at? is she aware of the alien behind her? If its another one in front of her, her posture makes sense. |

Nah, that's just the obligatory vulva-highlight; a staple for renders of hot chicks, regardless of their state of peril. _________________ Shredded Moose - Web 2.0 taken to the Xtreme with ultra-mango potential! |
