Hii everybody
Long time no hear...I've been watching all of you very closely. The speed-painting tread is becoming a work of art on it's one. With ever growing numbers and talents. I'm always awed and inspired when browsing trough it. This work doensn't fit in the speedpainting tread - It took me to long- So the time has come - and I feel bold and confidend enough- to create very first topic...
To make a long story short this image is the result of a brush-test gone haywire - and under the influence of the artbook of STARWARS III -
Please comment and critisize...
I do hope to post more, no excuses but just plain layziness heh
We'll see time will tell
And for those real fanboys time to play 'duel of the fates'
Excuses to the Lucas-Films trademark for so violantly ripping of your TM.
Greetzz

I like it, great work. Interesting image ratio, and the composition works wonderfully. Did you try rougher, painted style lightsabers? I'm not a fan of this clean glow.. painted ones usually look more powerful.. |

THX for you positive comment Ranarth...
I'll repaint the lightsabers when I revisted the painting. It won't be for today, had to promise my girlfriend she would be getting some quality time ![Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) _________________ Dreams R free |

This is great - Colors are great, textures are great, composition works perfectly, and the whole thing just oozes suspense and drama. Like Ranath said, maybe some work on the sabers would help them mesh better as they're very dominating right now. Also, I would expect more light to be hitting the underside of the rocks from the lava; toward the bottom it's totally black. Great job though. |

Elegantly handled -- I really like it. A great combination of graphic and illustrative elements, retro style and modern technique. Nice work, would love to see more in this style! _________________ E Y E | F E A S T |

Thanx everybody for the comments and critzz. I appreciate it very much
For the moment I'm in foreign regions. So an update won't be available untill this weekend. Hope to fix the lightning and lightsabers then. And sorry designboot but I won't change the poses. I like 'm. Looks like the blue jedi just hit Red with his fist in the face....
Anyone noticed the skull in the overhanging rock?
ThanX again and I do hope to find time and energy to make some more.

great swordsmen, tennis players, boxers etc. are often left handed because many people can't practice against left handed people. Thus being left handed gives you an advantage ![Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

Ranath, unless he already redid it I have to disagree a bit. I think the clean style of the lightsabers gives it a very crisp look, I think I like it better than I would if the lightsabers were painted. It reminds me of the "Clone Wars" animated series (don't know if anyone saw that).
Anyway I absolutely love it Keep up the awesome work. |

Mmh ThanX for the relief Sampster. I tried to redo it and none of the reruns satesfied me. It looked overdone and lost style and feeling. Or maybe I just fel in love with the first version. I wasn't aware off the left-handiness. Funny it turns out it can be explained by skill-level, heh. Again thanks to everyone for the replies, critzz and cheerzz . It ment a lot to me to hear from you, the inspiring artist and masters who roam this forum. The best there is. I hope to post soon. But no promises. To much things keep me from the WACOM...or am I making excuses?
Many greetzz
BTW Clone WArs is pretty cool. Especially the second DVD. Style and animation works surprizingly well. _________________ Dreams R free |
