AutoCad screen shots of a tree house I did for a client in upstate NewYork.
This is my first day off since January, so busy. Design is by the architect I do contract work for, then I do the drawings and make it work structurally.

I like using a gray background, like a normal graphics app. Most people still use black.

Its built attached to two real trees and two 16" diameter posts.
There are more drawings of course but this gives you the general idea.

Intriguing. Doesn't implementing live trees into a rather complex house like this cause problems over time? Not that I have any clue about it, just wondering if there are any special considerations to be made about that.

When is it going to be built and done? I'd love to see a photo of it at some time.

Yup thats the main problem. The trees keep getting bigger, larger diameter. We are giving a 4" gap between the walls and the tree. I wanted more but that would mean that the room would be smaller.

We are bolting a bracket through the trees but the beam that sits in the bracket wont be bolted. It will be able to slide a bit. So we'll have a U shaped bracket the beam sits in. Also the beam is held off the tree by 4 inches too. Otherwise the tree would be trying to break the beam off its attachment to the tree. The tree will probably grow around the portion of the bracket that is against the tree. I've got a bracket designed, but I still need the engineer to do the final version.

It will be constructed around september, I'm sure we'll be getting some photos.
