Kind of revolting to see it like that, all summed up in one place. I know there's lots of this stuff happening on a smalltime basis, like graphics downloaded off the net put on handouts for local parties, t-shirts for clubs, but to see it done by people who should know better or even big companies, thats just so wrong.
I mean everyone talks about intellectual property and whatnot, but the only ones that can really enforce it easily are big companies. If you as small time artist get your stuff stolen, even if you find out, I'm not sure putting a ton of effort and cash into lawsuits will have a good result(if you can even afford getting a lawyer in the first place) |

Agreed. Most, if not all, large companies rely on agencies and their sub contractors to produce the work, which adds to your comment about "knowing better"; agencies typically have a standard they should adhere to, and if the work they ultimately produce infringes on the copyrighted material, then the creative and art director isn't doing his/her job - it's the director's responsibility to ensure an ethical and proper workflow and on all counts. It's those very constructs that agencies are entrusted with for big clients; it's one of the many reasons why they charge the big clients hundreds of dollars an hour. Somebody aint doin' their job, and if I were the client and found out about it . . . rumble rumble. _________________ - Tom Carter
