Hey!
Here's a painting I've been working for a while. I would love to get some crits about how to get it look even more realistic.
If you have any comments I would be glad to hear them
Thanks!

Looks very nice already! If you want realism, I would start with adding more detail and improve the lighting. Which is a lot of work.
On another note, why do you want to make it look realistic? Realism is hard to do. No matter how realistis you make it, there will always be somebody, to whom it just wont be realistic enough. It's much easier to develop your own style and stick to it. That way your work will be standing out from the crowd, and it will be easier for people to recognise. Otherwise you'll get lost in the "realism" crowd. Anyway, nice work already. Keep at it! _________________ Fantasy art, Sci-fi, Surreal, Space and Abstract art - check out my gallery! |

Thanks for your comment
And you are right about the realism thing, and I agree with you on that. What I meant by realism was more in terms of value and lightning and not so much in photorealistic rendering. Quite the opposite actually, I wish to preserve that painterly look but dvelve deeper in the complicated world of value and lightning to make the painting look as interesting as possible.
Thanks for your thoughts

it looks like one of the propel blades is going behind the wing that's on left. Disturbs my eye.
Otherwise pretty nice. Just get reference and study if you want to push it further. |
