I'm right smack in the middle of an animation project to close off my undergrad. We're not an animation school, so I was lucky to have come across this opportunity. My group and I are creating a Flash-animated adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood. I draw+paint everything, give it to the others and they animate it. I gave the idea for Red and her grandmother to be forest beings and we settled on elves. I managed also to convince my teammates that we could do the entire movie w/ one backdrop and just moving things around and changing colours to create different settings... from sunlit forest to dense forest (where she meets the Wolf) to the Grandmother Tree. Here's the concept stuff I've done for the characters and the backdrop. Please C&C!

Looks cool. Will the flash animated art be more line-art looking? If it will it might be good to do this more in the concept art as well if that is the case? I dont really like the red pattern on her dress btw (shes good other than that though). |

you might want to go for something more vector-based style rather than the painted look; anything with a stronger silhouette that is easier to read when animated. As for the design, the wolf has some very odd proportions going on, besides, I think you should aim for something less humanoid in appearance. The red riding hood looks good, though I'd get rid of the pattern on her dress. |
