Ok, so for some reason I've been going back to traditional media... not really sure why because I've never felt fully comfortable with it but it seems to be doing what I want it to better than CG. So anyway...
I was wondering if i could get some critiques from you guys at this stage. Its a full 9x12 page, and its done with prismacolor markers and colored pencils.
I'm open to most anything, though there's not much I can change thats already been put down. If theres something that's drastic enough i might just scan it ad continue digitally, but I'd like to continue the challenge of traditional media.
The background is definately unfinished, as well as the grass, though i started it. The second creature is also not finished.
( the lighting isnt totally "true" to the peice, because its a digital photo... the seed at the top is the white paper, it hasnt been colored yet)

There are some anatomy issues here that could use some attention. One of her breasts is more or less where it should be, but the other seems to have moved to the side of her body, almost residing under her armpit. The torso isn't aligned properly with her hip/ass so it looks as if it could almost be broken. The wing design is interesting though, some sort of crossover between bats and insects?
The seed is throwing things a bit off scale since it appears that she's reaching out to grab it...but then the trees, mammals and grass look too small or the seed is too large.
Like you said however, there isn't much of a way to change the underlying drawing if you intend on sticking with traditional media.
cheers. _________________ It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice - Scooter |

I have to agree with Nova on these few things however I really like this image nontheless. The whole scene is very nice. Her wings are super sweet!! |
