Hello--my first post here, and I'm terrified :')
I am completely amature--but I absolutely love getting good, strong, accurate critiques on my work... And a good critique forum is awfully hard to come by it seems.
But I've been lurking around here for some time--and alot of the artwork I've seen here has been insanely inspiring to me. It amazes me what some of you guys can come up with. Just brilliant.
I figured it wouldn't hurt to at least post one picture on here--if not just to see what some of you guys think.
So here's my latest peice:
thanks guys.
Here's another one--a bit older:
Oh! Please, excuse the 'tasteless' subject matter--it was an illustration for a personal project--not meant to be taken offensively...unless you want to. _________________ For the good are always the merry,

Hey!
You have a good grasp of light and solid coloring skills. Your image that you gave us is pretty stylized, but for general technique, youre not bad.
One other thing, don't get your hopes up about too many replies. It's not that stuff is bad, it just the reply rate in this forum for most threads is pretty low. So don't take it personally if you don't get replies. You have some real talent, and I especially love your crisp edges. |

Sometimes it's hard to critique a piece for many reasons. I think your piece is like that for me. There's nothing really wrong with it, and the style is forgiving enough where it doesn't require the viewer to be that critical. This is often the case when it comes to cartoony stuff--unless the artist is really lacking in basic art foundations, he could get away with a lot before anything starts to look "wrong." Even elements like composition would be hard to judge because once stylized to a point, you're not sure what criteria to use anymore when judging a piece. It's a little hard to explain--I hope you get what I'm saying. It's almost like highly stylized piece can look like ANYTHNG because they are done with such a different mentality anyway, so how do you critique something like that? |

ah! Thank you for the feed back! It means alot to me.
Lunatique, yes--I know exactly what you mean. Hmm Maybe it would help if I posted a few other--less stylized pics on here to show really where I am at? I'm just afraid that alot of my other stuff does not quite show enough maturity for this forum.
I'll post one though--because it really isn't that fair that the first image I post here is indeed so stylistic. _________________ For the good are always the merry,

LoL omg, deathmatch!
Some tight colouring
There's something wrong in the second one. His right hand holding the tie doesn't look quite right. |
