Hi folks!

Among other nice things included in the new Painter IX 9.5 upgrade, is support for Rosetta, making it possible to run on Intel-based Macs.

Registered users of Corel Painter IX are eligible for a free upgrade to Painter IX 9.5.

Corel Painter IX.5 will be available through Corel's reseller partners starting in April.

I'm wondering when the first universal binary version will come out. And would also like to see a way to specify (when using autopaint) that I only want the "blank" areas on the canvas painted on, so that the autopaint doesn't keep painting over areas that are already covered. It takes 400% or more longer to autopaint something than it needs to because the program doesn't recognize where it's already put a stroke down (Studio Artist does this through a "blanking" checkbox).

But it does have a better splash screen (was it me, or did anyone else hate the nine finger thing?).

It looks like there are some new brushes for the 6D pen that weren't in 9.1. Cool!

As of 11:51 PM Pacific, March 1, 2006 when I last checked:

Per the top paragraph on the page linked below the **Windows** Painter IX.5 download is temporarily unavailable:

http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=Corel3/Downloads/Download&cid=1047026206047&pid=1047023646661

As of 11:54 PM Pacific, March 1, 2006, when I last checked, there is not a similar notice on the **Mac** Painter IX.5 download page so until we hear otherwise, I guess we can assume the **Mac** Painter IX.5 download is available:

http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=Corel3/Downloads/Download&cid=1047026206005&pid=1047023646661

(Or not assume, which might be a better option.)

Good luck!

HELP
I can download the 9.5 upgrade..have done it FOUR times..but it won't install..
When I click Download and get the save message..the save options are "paint shop pro image" or "all files"
It will only download as "paint shop pro image"
When I try to open the file...Painter IX.1 opens and displays a message "file cannot be opened"
What is wrong?
I have this same problem with CorelDraw Updates..the download file seems to save as a graphic that cannot be opened and the upgrade will not install..
Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem?
