To keep my artistic sanity from doing so much comic book line work, I'll be posting WIP of a painting so I can keep motivated! Its been like 3-4 months since I've done a painting and I really need to get back into it again. The title is "Head Overlord" which is a bit of a pun.

I'll be sketching the entire image out with shadows ala sienna underpainting style, it was the way I work to this day, a habit from doing traditional oils so many years ago. Feel free to call out anything that looks odd to your eyes (besides my typos). Always looking for ways to progress, I already have my color scheme figured out in my head, but I'll probably mess around with a thumbnail of that anyway.

Here is the next phase, I like being in really loose, kinda like going in with a mop and finishing with a toothpick.



Here are some close ups of the stone throne process, I like the rough hewn look for stone. After I get the basics in, I'll go in and add cracks, veins and chips.

This isn't too much of an update, but I have worked the bottom of the throne, and worked the stairs. All minus the cracks and surface details of course.
