Picked up a Canon 350D a couple weeks ago, I'm really enjoying Photography.. first 'real' camera I've ever owned. Also purchased a 70-300mm lens for the camera.
I know it's not standard fair for non-painted stuff but thought some of you may enjoy them... or have suggestions or crits..
I've got tons more you can see the rest on my site below and clicking "photography"...
What do you think? Decent? I almost wonder if I could get a job doing this.. It's very relaxing to me.. _________________ .::astrochimp.net::. |

I don't know anything about professional photography so I can't offer valuable criticism. I did enjoy the picture very much though.
I also want to ask, would you care if I used a few to practice painting animals? |

It's one of the consumer line it's about $800 for the camera body, the lens was $500.. so yeah it cost a bit but the pics I'm getting out of it, I definitely think it was worth it. _________________ .::astrochimp.net::. |

I personally think your composition could use a bit of work here and there to make some of the images a bit more appealing besides from the already very awesome topic of them. Apart from that I also enjoyed them very very much.
Can't say much about the job prospects, but I would assume that if you keep working on yourself and more importantly on getting your name out there you could. |

I agree on composition, seems like there are some "empty" spaces on some of the photos.
The exposure is nice and with those subjects you get interesting photos.
Overall good shots, imho ![Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) _________________ "Ever forward, my darling wind." -Master Yuppa

Hrmm.. I hadn't looked at the exif after using a PSD.. it's picking up the info from PSD from the Kodak border template..
Still new to the photography thing, doesn't the exif get killed when cut/pasting anyhow?
Maybe I should just backup all my images to DVD first then edit a copy, and crop the original copies to keep the exif intact...

if you edit the file direct and just do a save as rather than save for web all exif is kept intact. but if you copy the image out of the original and place it within another pic or image, then the original exif will be lost/changed..
all my photo's (approx 39,000 of them) those that i kept are all backed up and also unedited so i can go back at any time and look at an unedited verson. all edited versions are saved to a seperate partition and uploaded/used in jobs..
i put my pics on 2 DVD's 1 is kept in a metal CD/DVD box here in the office and the other is offsite incase of fire..
i'm guessing if you payed out $500 for ur glass its a canon 70-300L f4?
i generally resize to 800x533 and save as jpg @ approx 150-200kb
taken with my $90 sigma 70-300 i have my eye set on a Bigma atm
