These are some of my latest illustrations produced just for fun.
Mysterious celtic ruins: looking into moody lighting and effects
Tentacle beast: a creature design inspired by the star nosed mole that's meant to look frightening and grotesque. This result stills a little drab, but understanding overcast daylight was fun.
The latest - an Aussie girl making off with the 'cargo'

Really cool stuff! I love the spiralling shapes on the rocks of the first one. It certainly tells a story. The third one is also one of those images that speaks volumes. Out of curiosity: what's the original size of these? and how long did you spend on painting them? |

It's always enjoyable and really fun to look at art made just for fun... Cos it always looks better than art made for commission. (Well, not always maybe but you get the point... )
I like especially the first one, great!... _________________ Emir YARDIMCI

SAM - Thanks! That was based off Irish Megalithic spirals which are carved into a lot of the ancient tombs in Ireland. They date back 2500 years ago, well before the first Irish church. All of these are painted at A4 dimensions at 300 dpi - roughly 2300 by 3300 pixels. The second was the quickest - about two days full-time, then the third, because the face, took so long - three days and the celt ruins wouldn't been four.
KieranYanner - Cheers! Her torso has a lot of problems. I've just tweaked it to fix that. Just had a look at your site and your work is amazing! I'd love to paint with the kind of vibrancy and knowledge of light that you do.
I dated a girl from Norfolk when I was in England (what an accent!). She said that folks from there like to keep to themselves. How so do you know so freaking much about this forgotten corner of the world?!?
frantic - I follow you. Since my trade is in low-poly 3D and texturing, I mostly paint for fun in the subjects that I enjoy. It's a lot more original than the commercial stuff so that sometimes makes it more interesting but often it ends up not making much sense! And...
Endorphin - ...there's my point! You must be the only person I know who'd prefer the second over the others. I'd love to know why! The fold in the girl's singlet is making her boob look flat, despite what I've tried to fix that. Thanks for pointing that out! _________________ www.high5art.com |

The second one is just, well, surreal. I dunno, like this pink mouth-like thing with the teeth looks like, well, you know, that body part that girls have. And then there's that warrior-type guy riding it... Whoa, so many associations there...=))) _________________ Endorphin,
