Ok, I've finished a Diploma of Multimedia. And am wondering if I should do some further studies, and if so in which field.
I either want to get into games 3D modeling/cinematic sequences. Or 3D in movies. (Bottom line is I wanna do 3D).
I have learnt a lot of 3D skills myself and am proficient with many 3D programs. An area I lack in is animation. I think I'm an okay modeller thou.
I realise artistic skill is an important facter in this industry, and although I have certain amount of artistic ability, it is nothing compared to you guys.
So, the point is,. If I were to go for a job in the above mention industries, which would serve me better:
Just staying home working by myself and making a kickass showreel
Doing an Art course at uni
Doing an Animation course at uni
Doing a Screen Production course at uni
or something else?
Not sure what Screen Production is, but it sounds something to do with making movies. Which is what I'd really like to do. Games is just a second choice.
So I think basicaly the questions are:
Whats more important,
artistic skill
animation skill or
film/camera knowledge
and can the required amount artistic skill be aquired by learning yourself without going thru a long drawn out art degree
Hmm... Any suggestions welcome, if you think this msg is inappropriate then sorry, try to ignore it.
Signing off...
