This image might be a bit too adventurous for you at this point. The shading and values are all over the place, you'd learn a lot more from recreating something simpler, something that will allow you to get an understand of form and the way form is shaded before jumping into the deep end.
Also, if you're not using reference, you should be. Do fifty from reference, then start thinking about creating people from your imagination. _________________ Art Links Archive -- Artists and Tutorials |

To Sumaleth : Thanks for the reply, It's nice to get responds when you are in need, and yes I will try to do that. Defendly in my next picture I'll have that in mind. It's just that I have begun this piece and I want to finish it. Im wondering if you like the shadowing and everything or? And no :/ I don't have a picture as a reference, but I do seek pictures of parts I need, like muscles and other things.
To everybody : Heres my update for today, hope you'll share what you think, any critique (good or bad) are wellcome! What should I get better?

If you want human body reference, on muscles and such, just give your own body a squidge to find out what's going on under the skin.
Regarding shading, try looking at your picture and imagining, if it was a photograph, where would the darkest area be?, (under his chin behind her shoulder probably: img) etc.
No you don't have to approach the rendering from the standpoint of 'if this were a photograph', but for your picture I think some logic and reasoning would be a helpful next step in bringing your image to life. |
