i really dig the baby...nice detail on the second one...im getting really mad at oils lately...been sticking to acrylics...its so damn hard because with oils you cant keep layering without waiting for it to dry...how are you liking them anyway? _________________ www.andresguzman.com

Thanks guys.
Varg: Yeah, I might fix the hand a bit, the shadow is going too far into the hand making the hand look old, though the digital photo makes it look worse than the real thing.
The insider: Saw you do great things with acrylics indeed.
The indian girl started out with acrylics but the wood of the panel only had 1 coat of gesso on so the paint was dry before the brush was filled with paint again. I worked with oil over that which worked a lot better.
I use watersoluble oils from Talens and Winsor % Newton. They dry a lot faster than traditional oil (but slower than acrylics) and you don't have the smell of the solvents. |
