This is a portrait I did about a year ago and have just changed the background on. I like it better this way...

How old is your daughter, eyewoo? It's odd, looking at the pic sometimes it makes her look quite young, in her teens, but then at others she's a grown woman, possibly in her thirties.
It's a lovely picture - done in Painter? |

It's hard to compare without a referrence to the old background, but the overall looks fantastic nevertheless My only gripe, and it's minor, is the colour of the seat is close to skintones. Hands disappear or drown a little, but the rest works really well. The bg pops her nicely though so it's not that much of an issue. The hands are not the focal point anyway, and I think it's tricky to modify it without loosing the harmony that is present now. Leave it as is I think It looks fine. _________________ The Dark Ages was caused by the Y1K problem. |

I like it. Very nice image! I have to agree with the the seat colour argument. It's just a matter of taste tho. |

Thanks for the comments
The chair is a family chair in my 92 year old mom's house and has significance, so the color is pretty much the way it has to be... Not sure whether it is totally subjective, but fortunately as a result, I do like it
Interesting observation Japong. That is one of the qualities in the portrait that I am also liking - an agelessness. I'm not quite sure how I did it, but I don't want to mess with it. Sarah is 33 years old. _________________ HonePie.com

You do incredible work. With all the stuff you've been doing lately in your illustration style, I've really grown to almost forget just how capable you are as an artist. I'd love to see more of this type of thing from you, Phil! |

Nice, well done. She looks like an artists daughter (I think it's the wrist band) |
