Hi everyone!

I've done some work trying to learn a few things from the art of Richard Corben. The result is a three-page document with lots of text and pictures, describing the process. SOunds dull? Well there's more boobs and profanity in there than you can shake a stick at. It's not really a tutorial, but it describes some neat tricks before it completely derails and turns into a waking nightmare.

Go ahead and take a look:
http://www.mattiassnygg.com/tutorials/corbenandme/corbenandme1.htm (nudity, not safe for work or anywhere else)

Let me know what you think about it!

Haha . . . man, I have always hated Corben's stuff, but you seem to be having fun with it. Funny article.

Mattias din gamla Htorgsgallerist, that's hysterical. I bet (and hope) you had a lot of fun exploring this venue. C. Rockwell for president.
Thanks for the many laughs.

Yeah, he's always been a bit of an oddball. There are a few cover paintings he did that are actually quite cool (the Greyhawk books and Fighting Fantasy books), but his comic book stuff never did anything for me.

Wow. I haven't thought about him since my mother wanted to throw out my Heavy Metal collection back in '77.

Never really dug him or Boris or Hildebrandt Bros or Drulliet.

It was Frazetta and Moebius and Jeffrey Jones and a few others for me.

Thanks a lot you guys, I'm really glad everyone seems to be enjoying it (corben fan or not). The whole business or writing stuff down while you're painting has opened up my eyes to a lot of things, it's easier to maintain perspective on what you're doing. It's something I can totally recommend, even if it's just for your very own amusement.

cheers gents
