A wee piece of fluff, guaranteed to make you go "awwwww":
Every day is a happy day, as long as I'm sitting on my favourite perch.
(Pen & ink on coloured paper.)
Details:
Another World
(Commissioned as preliminary design for tattoo. The idea: these monsters can't be together, because they belong in different worlds.)
Tiny Birds
Note: Is this yours? If you talked to me in the Concept Art chat a few weeks ago and commissioned an image of "a nice tree and surrounding fauna," this is it. I haven't been able to get in touch with you via e-mail, unfortunately, and I forgot your name (oops!). I'm going to hang onto it for a month or two in case you claim it, but then I'll have to sell it to someone else.
Some random sketch
Look at me...my hands are pussywillows. My ears are pussywillows. My pussy is a...oh, nevermind.

Really like your recent work, It would be interesting to see how you draw one of these images. How much planning and layout is done before you actually render? _________________ http://www.somniostudios.com |

eyewoo - ? This is a HAPPY picture! The rat might be dead, but look at all the pretty flowers he got!
henrik - Thank you! I have this really old inking tutorial here: http://www.gatheringofartists.com/epitome/content/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=97&Itemid=61 , but I'm not sure how useful it'd be, since it mostly just points out the obvious, and doesn't cover the sketching stage at all. Usually, I draw several thumbnails, to work out the composition, then do a semi-detailed final sketch, before getting started with the ink. It's probably pretty much the same method everyone else uses.
Max Kulich - Thank you very much!
Andromeda - Thank you! The original is probably somewhere around 12, 13 inches tall. (Just big enough to be a pain in the ass to scan, in other words). _________________ Dignity isn't important. It's everything.
