Hey, i am just getting into monochrome, i have no idea what kind of paper i should be using, i don't have a class for a few days, and the art stores in the area are filled with kids.... any suggestions?

Check out Canson brand "Mi-Teintes" papers. They are nice, heavy-weight, textured drawing/ patel papers that should work well for that technique. they offer i nice range of neutral tones and are relatively economical for the quality of the product.
