Ok, this is my first time here...and i have to say that it's without doubt the best gfx related board out there! Congrats to Dhabih (totally cool gfx by you too, btw!) and all his users - which will also include me too from now onwards

Well, I'm new to PC gfx after "pixeling" gfx on the Amiga (demo scene) for a while. I do it the standard way (for sceners) by using no scanned elements, with an airbrush-tool technique (burn&dodge). Urgh, and i'm also tablet-less...so it's mucky mats all the way

I have a lot to learn when it comes to PS...however here's a link to my very first "real" attempt in PhotoShop, for anyone with an interest or any technique based ideas or suggestions that could help: http://www.artx.freeserve.co.uk/webready/latest/truelove.jpg

If you're interested in seeing how i currently paint you can grab the steps to the above pic from my homepage in the "latest" section of my gallery (I`d appretiate it if you kindly overlooked the 3D shit someone produced there though

Anyway, that's my first attempt but I'm now working on my second, based on a sketch i have done: http://www.artx.freeserve.co.uk/webready/sin(pre-sketch).jpg (im not looking forward to pixeling the guy's "hair"!)

i don't have any technique ideas or suggestions, because you make the 'skin look' better that I do,. but, there are two things about the image that bother me though,. her left eye <right by our POV> it's to far seperated from the nose,.it makes the nose look crooked from where it is now,. part of the eye should be hidden by the bridge of the nose,..
the other thing is the ear,. it seems too soft in comparison to the reset of the image,..

just my opinion,.

but all in all i love the image, please show us more, your art is wonderous.

Thanks for the comments guys! (Mongoose, Sizko.jr and B)

B: Firstly, thank you very much for your honest & constructive feedback. I've noticed a lot of it floating around on this board - which is fantastic!!! (not to mention valuable)

I agree 100% with you on the point of the left eye - there's definitely too much space between it and the bridge of the nose. I began the pic by drawing a simple "feature-outline" with PS's pencil-tool and didn't spend enough time on ensuring everything was perfect. I actually noticed the mistake with more then enough time to correct it...I really should have I guess as it makes the image look amateurish.

Also, I don't know if you noticed but the bridge of the nose itself is FAR too "strong". It could have done with quite a bit more shading I think. Oh well...we live and learn as they say.

Hm, the ear. Ok, maybe. I could have made the ear sharp...but I thought a slight blur would give an illusion of non-focus, as the main focus of the painting is around the eye area, or something

Anyway, I haven't got anymore PC pics worth showing, but - as I mentioned in my original post - I'm working on a new image based on that sketch which I'll definitely post. I hope I can rely on your critic!

Thanks again dude
