Illustration of a proto-type German wire-guided antitank rocket. Still have much to do.

The sketch.

Sketch with value.

Color and rendering work.

More of the same.

Some work on the ground, trees and sky. I have the missile trail and explosion layer turned off until I figure out exactly how to draw them.

Finished the exploding tank for the most part. Adjusted the lighting on the ground as well.

Looking good! Especially like the terrain. There's something odd about the perspective on the right tank (it's an IS2 right?) though, it seems to suggest that the horizon is much lower than it currently is, even when it is still completely flat on the ground (or is it sunken into the mud on one side?)

I'm also interested in how seth did that (ie. what did you do to get that richer look? simple texture or hand-painted overlay?)

Thanks for the comments Godwin. The horizon line I have painted in is false. If you look at the initial sketch you can see the original. The plan was to paint a hill like raise in-between the tanks and the tree-line, but I lost that right from the get go.

Alright, you guys are probably tired of seeing this but I'm nearly finished with this one. I have two different versions here, the first one has the horizon line brought down to match the original perspective of the tanks. The second one has the false horizon that I did for some reason that I can no longer remember.

Slightly more acrurate horizon.

False horizon.
