Hey somebody asked me to edit a paper for them and give back on the disk. The paper is in black&white, paper size is as a regular ducument. My questions are:
1) what scale do i scan the paper in? 100%?! how do i know dpi then, with higher dip 100% would be HUGE
2) i heard putting image in CMYK (?) color mode is good for printing, is dat tru and why?
3) hehe most importantly.. how do i know the picture size i should do so it prints back on same size sheet? Bah...

thats a lot of questions eh, but i never did anythign liek this befor e;o

1) You know the DPI you scan at by setting it before you scan. Every scanner has this option. For your case, I would suggest scanning in whatever DPI your printer can print at, so you don't have to do any resizing later on.

2) CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, blacK) is the best color mode for printing because if you take a look at your printer inks...they are those four very same colors! Printers can't do RGB because those colors are the 3 primaries of light, not the 3 primary colors of ink/paint. Otherwise printers would be RYB.

3) If you scan at 300DPI, and your printer prints at 300DPI, then don't resize the image at all, and it will print the way it was scanned. Yes, it will seem huge on your screen, but it will print at the correct size, believe me.

Good luck

Coole! The CMYK/RGB thing was something i didnt kno yet, so it was interesting. But still i have this scan/print resolutions problem.. Yes i know you can specify dpi but what i meant, how do i know what dpi is the printer if i dont even know anything about their printer's dpi (they'll print it somewhere in some shop or somethign).
Okei so what would be the best guess? 300dpi right? Because i really dont wanna mess it so it wount fit the paper ;o

PS: the paper is a bunch of puzzles about care for teeth and brayces. They'll go around primary schools with those puzzles to educate kids (hehe its funny that they gave this job to a drunk russian kid eh?)
